Worship with Us
Every Sunday, we gather together in our church on King Road to worship the Lord. In our worship services, we seek to praise God and gain a deeper understanding of Him and His Word, the Bible. You can read more about our beliefs here.
You are welcome to join us – whatever your age, ethnicity, status, or occupation!
New to Abbotsford Canadian Reformed Church?
Coming to an unfamiliar church can be intimidating. Here’s what to expect: on a typical Sunday, you’ll find us gathered together in our church near the University of the Fraser Valley.
Before the church service starts, greeters will welcome you at the front door. (The greeters would also love to host you and your family or friends for lunch after the service, if you would like.) Inside the building, ushers will give you a liturgy sheet that indicates the order of events during the worship service. The liturgy sheet will also list the songs that will be sung and the Bible passages on which the pastor will preach.
You don’t need to bring a Bible or hymnbook with you. We have Bibles in the pews, and the words to all of the songs are projected at the front of the church for everyone to see. Our singing is generally accompanied by organ music.
You’ll notice that a lot of us dress a little more formally – it’s not unusual to see the ladies in skirts or dresses and the men in collared shirts. However, please rest assured that you are welcome in our midst whether you’re wearing jeans or a full tuxedo!
Towards the end of the service, a bag is passed around to take a collection. The offerings are for people in need or for charitable organizations that we support. As a guest in our midst, you don’t need to feel obligated to contribute anything to the collection.
After the service, we typically stick around for a while and chat with each other, and we’d love to use this time to get to know you personally!
